Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The net profits of National Takaful Company (Watania) hiked by 135.7% to AED 16.56 million in the first half (H1) of 2020 from AED 7.025 million in the year-ago period.

The company's net earned takaful contributions increased by 19.4% to AED 107.74 million in H1-20 from AED 90.2 million in H1-19, according to the company's interim financial results for the period ended on 30 June 2020.

The underwriting profit reached AED 31.156 million in the first six months of 2020, up 53.5% from AED 20.297 million in the corresponding period of 2019.

The basic and diluted earnings per share (EPS) stood at AED 0.11 in H1-20, compared to AED 0.05 in H1-19.
